If the Dems worked for a model of an adequate standard of living for all (which would have been a successful and unifying concept) instead of the highly divisive PC Obsessive binary of "white males are oppressors and everyone else is oppressed", which includes lower-income "white males" as "oppressors" then things would have been different. PC is a moral failure, because it erroneously defines who is oppressed and an oppressor by group membership rather than individually. Lower-income "white males" were tired of being condemned for what other (wealthier) "white males" have done.

politics are corrupt from the local town on up. I wanted to run for local council and you need 100 or 200 signatures to get on the ballot. Of the party you're running under. I called both the dem and rep committies and got the same response - "what you have done for us?" - unless i washed their backs they would do nothing for me. So corruption, favors, start before everything else.

BUt we have blacktop roads...where does the rubber that wears off tires go? School nutrition or nutrition info overall...what is right or not, good or not, influenced by corp america? Medical...should be like car warranty - there is a book iwth prices for services. dr can charge 50 or 500. Th ebook says insurance pays $55. You can find a dr for $50 and pay nothing, or find a dr that wants 100 and you pay the $45 difference. As long as the cost of care is 'hidden' consumers have no reason, or ability, to make a choice

So, no really strong evidence then that government has legitimate authority over man. We must also consider that government's are corporations; i'm not the only one who didn't give consent to the commercial tyranny of the current system - no full disclosure, diminished inherent rights, no rule of law, commercial prisons (slavery), courts operating in commerce, no true money (debt slavery), compromised academics, for-profit health-care, immunity for judges, crooked bankers and unelected members of NGO's and i could continue... There's no legitimate government!

In week 3 of my course on Money, Banking and the US Economy, we were told "Gold no longer plays a role in the monetary system. Let us dispense with it". The textbook's last chapter explained the classical gold standard, but we never got around to it. If you wanted to read thru it you were welcome to, but everything in the class revolved around Keynesian economics and deficit spending.
